Like every laptop and tablet the Asus T100 series is prone to the charging port failing.  It can happen by accident with a fall or even over time with constant plugging and unplugging of the power connection.  I’ve seen failures occur when the customer accidentally plugs the cord in upside down resulting in the pins being ruined.

The T100 use a micro usb port (2.0) that is soldered directly to the main board.  If you break it you don’t need to replace the laptop much less throw it away.  Pomeroy Computing offers $69 parts and labor to fix and replace the jack.  We completely take the tablet apart, remove the broken plug and install a new one so the laptop is functional again.
